Abstract

ABSTRACT SUMATRIANI. The Asean Corporate Governance Scorecard, Financial Performance, Disclosure of the Social Responsibility on the Value of the Firm (supervised by Gagaring Pagalung, Darwis Said, and Grace T. Pontoh) This research aimed to measure and to analyze the Asean Corporate Governance Scorecard, financial performance, disclosure of CSR to the firm value. The research population of that participates in the assessment of Asean scorecard and located in Indonesia, Malaysia and Thailand. The samples comprising 142 companies were chosen using the purposive sampling method. The data were analyzed using the path analysis. The research results indicated that the rights of the shareholders had a positive effect on the financial performance, the disclosure of CSR, and the firm value. The equitable treatment of the shareholders had a positive effect on the disclosure of CSR and the firm value, but had no effect on the financial performance. The role of the stakeholders had a positive effect on the financial performance and firm value, but had no effect on the disclosure of CSR. The disclosure and transparency had no effect on the financial performance, the disclosure of CSR, and the firm value. The responsibilities of the Board had no effect on the financial performance, disclosure of CSR, or firm value. The Implementation of good governance encourages stewards to provide services to shareholders and stakeholders, and corporate management acting on behalf of shareholders and making decisions that maximize firm value.
